Description

Aristolochia bilobata Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 2: 960. 1753.

"Habitat in Dominica." RCN: 6946.

Lectotype (Rankin & Greuter in Taxon 48: 683. 1999): [icon] " Aristolochia longa, scandens, foliis, ferri equini effigie " in Plumier, Descr. Pl. Amér.: 91, t. 106. 1693. - Epitype (Rankin & Greuter in Taxon 48: 683. 1999): Hispaniola. Haiti, Vicinity of St Raphael, Département du Nord, flowers purple veined on whitish, vining on shrubs, arid foot hills, ca. 350m, 3 Dec 1925, Leonard 7686 (GH; iso- NY).

Current name: Aristolochia bilobata L. (Aristolochiaceae).
