Description
Lichen pulmonarius Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 2: 1145. 1753.
"Habitat in Europae sylvis umbrosis super arbores antiquas, praesertim in Fagis & Quercubus. arboreus." RCN: 8198.
Lectotype (Yoshimura & Hawksworth in J. Jap. Bot. 45: 36. 1970): Herb. Linn. No. 1273.103, lower specimen (LINN).
Current name: Lobaria pulmonaria (L.) Hoffm. (Lobariaceae).
Note: See review by Jørgensen & al. (in Bot. J. Linn. Soc. 115: 343, 380. 1994), who illustrate the type (as f. 50; p. 344 as does Jørgensen in Symb. Bot. Upsal. 33(3): 88, f. 7. 2005).
