Description
Leontice thalictroides Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 1: 312. 1753.
"Habitat in Virginia." RCN: 2458.
Lectotype (designated here by Reveal): Clayton 545 (BM).
Current name: Caulophyllum thalictroides (L.) Michx. (Berberidaceae).
Note: Stearn (Genus Epimedium: 215. 2002) indicated unspecified material in LINN as type. Although sheet 433.2 (LINN) is from Kalm, it is undetermined by Linnaeus, but this questionable choice was in any case published after 1 Jan 2001 and so the omission of the phrase "designated here" or an equivalent (Art. 7.11) means that it is not effective.
