Description
Scabiosa ochroleuca Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 1: 101. 1753.
"Habitat in Germaniae pratis siccis." RCN: 824.
Type not designated.
Original material: Herb. Burser XV(2): 10 (UPS); [icon] in Morison, Pl. Hist. Univ. 3: 48, s. 6, t. 13, f. 23. 1699; [icon] in Clusius, Rar. Pl. Hist. 2: 3. 1601.
Current name: Scabiosa columbaria L. subsp. ochroleuca (L.) Čelak. (Dipsacaceae).
Note: Devesa (in Lagascalia 12: 165. 1984) wrongly indicated 120.28 (LINN) as lectotype but this collection lacks the relevant Species Plantarum number (i.e. “17”) and was a post-1753 addition to the herbarium, and is not original material for the name.
