Lectotype (Jeffrey in Jarvis & al., Regnum Veg. 127: 79. 1993): Herb. Clifford: 383, Prenanthes 2 (BM-000646836).
Generitype of Prenanthes Linnaeus (vide Cassini, Dict. Sci. Nat.: 34: 98. 1825).
Current name: Prenanthes purpurea L. (Asteraceae).
