Description
Polygonum fagopyrum Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 1: 364. 1753.

Lectotype (Graham in Turrill & Milne-Redhead, Fl. Trop. E. Africa, Polygonaceae: 26. 1958): Herb. Linn. No. 510.37 (LINN).
Generitype of Helxine Linnaeus (vide Reveal in Jarvis & al., Regnum Veg. 127: 53. 1993).
Current name: Fagopyrum esculentum Moench (Polygonaceae).
Note: Polygonum fagopyrum L. is the basionym of Fagopyrum esculentum Moench, the conserved type of Fagopyrum Mill.
