Lectotype (Dahlgren in Opera Bot. 29: 21. 1971): Herb. Clifford: 37, Penaea 1 (BM-000557817).
Generitype of Penaea Linnaeus (vide Kunth in Linnaea 5: 677. 1830).
Current name: Penaea mucronata L. (Penaeaceae).
