Panicum dichotomum Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 1: 58. 1753.
"Habitat in Virginia." RCN: 493.
Lectotype (Hitchcock in Contr. U. S. Natl. Herb. 12: 117. 1908): Clayton 458, left specimen (BM-000042601; iso- US, fragm.).
Current name: Dichanthelium dichotomum (L.) Gould (Poaceae).
