Description
Euphorbia chamaesyce Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 1: 455. 1753.
"Habitat in Europa australi, Sibiria." RCN: 3516.
Lectotype (Khan in Notes Roy. Bot. Gard. Edinburgh 25: 152. 1964): Löfling 373 , Herb. Linn. No. 630.15 (LINN).
Current name: Euphorbia chamaesyce L. (Euphorbiaceae).
Note: Wheeler (in Rhodora 43: 265, pl. 668A. 1941) treated 630.17 (LINN) as the type, but this is a Browne specimen from Jamaica that Linnaeus did not receive until 1758 so it is not original material for the name.
