Conserved type (Cafferty & al. in Taxon 51: 810. 2003 [2002]): South Africa. Cape District, Bothasig, (Bosmansdam) 3318DC, 27 Oct 1965, E. Esterhuysen 31332 (NBG; iso- BOL).

Current name: Erica corifolia L. (Ericaceae).
