Description
Elymus europaeus Linnaeus, Systema Naturae, ed. 12, 2: 101; Mantissa Plantarum: 35. 1767.
"Habitat in Germania." RCN: 705.
Lectotype (Cope in Cafferty & al. in Taxon 49: 250. 2000): Herb. Linn. No. 100.13 (LINN).
Current name: Hordelymus europaeus (L.) Harz (Poaceae).
Note: Although Kerguélen (in Lejeunia, n.s., 75: 193. 1975) stated "Type: …LINN”, this is not accepted as a formal typification, for the reasons explained by Cafferty & al. (in Taxon 49: 240. 2000).
