Description

Bignonia catalpa Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 2: 622. 1753.

Lectotype (Reveal & al. in Bartonia 56: 17. 1990): [icon] " Bignonia Urucu foliis flore sordide albo, intus maculis purpureis & luteis asperso, siliqua longissima & angustissima " in Catesby, Nat. Hist. Carolina 1: 49, t. 49. 1730.

Current name: Catalpa bignonioides Walter (Bignoniaceae).
