  • 1. Department of Botany, Natural History Museum, Cromwell Road, London, UK

Description

Ruellia ciliaris Linnaeus, Systema Naturae, ed. 12, 2: 424; Mantissa Plantarum: 89. 1767.

"Habitat in India." RCN: 4612.

Neotype (Vollesen, Blepharis: 96. 2000): Garcin s.n. (G).

Current name: Blepharis ciliaris (L.) B.L. Burtt (Acanthaceae).

Note: Vollesen (Blepharis: 96. 2000) indicates Garcin material in G (unseen by him) as the type. Such material may well not have been seen by Linnaeus so should probably be treated as a neotype.
