Description

Mimosa punctata Linnaeus, Systema Naturae, ed. 10, 2: 1311. 1759.

["Habitat in America."] Sp. Pl., ed. 2, 2: 1502 (1763). RCN: 7668.

Lectotype (Wijnands, Bot. Commelins: 152. 1983): Browne, Herb. Linn. No. 1228.14 (LINN).

Current name: Neptunia plena (L.) Benth. (Fabaceae: Mimosoideae).

Note: Fawcett & Rendle (Fl. Jamaica 4: 131. 1920) noted the existence of what is evidently 1228.14 (LINN) but did not indicate it as the type.
