Description
Microcos paniculata Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 1: 514. 1753.
"Habitat in India." RCN: 6981.
Replaced synonym of: Grewia microcos L. (1767), nom. illeg.
Lectotype (Panigrahi in Taxon 34: 703. 1985): Herb. Hermann 1: 59, No. 207 (BM-000621430).
Generitype of Microcos Linnaeus (vide Green, Prop. Brit. Bot.: 161. 1929).
Current name: Microcos paniculata L. (Tiliaceae).
Note: If treated as a species of Grewia, the correct name is G. nervosa (Lour.) Panigrahi.
