Martynia annua Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 2: 618. 1753.

Lectotype (Nafday in Bull. Bot. Soc. Coll. Sci. Nagpur 4: 65. 1964): [icon] " Martynia annua, villosa & viscosa, folio subrotundo, flore magno rubro" in Martyn, Hist. Pl. Rar.: 42, t. 42. 1728 (see p. 21). - Typotype: Miller ex Roy. Soc. No. 476. 1731 (BM-SL).
Generitype of Martynia Linnaeus (vide Green, Prop. Brit. Bot.: 167. 1929).
Current name: Martynia annua L. (Pedaliaceae).
