Lectotype (Verdoorn in Bothalia 13: 35. 1980): Herb. Clifford: 342, Hermannia 3 (BM-000646393).
Generitype of Hermannia Linnaeus (vide Green, Prop. Brit. Bot.: 172. 1929).
Current name: Hermannia hyssopifolia L. (Sterculiaceae).
