Daucus muricatus (Linnaeus) Linnaeus, Species Plantarum, ed. 2, 1: 349. 1762.
"Habitat in Mauritania." RCN: 1948.
Basionym: Artedia muricata L. (1753).
Lectotype (Reduron & al. in Jarvis & al. in Taxon 55: 209. 2006): [icon] " Echinophora Tingitana " in Rivinus, Ordo Pl. Fl. Pentapetal.: t. 27. 1699.
Current name: Daucus muricatus (L.) L. (Apiaceae).
