Current status: Philopterus zulfi Ansari, 1955f.
Type host: Turdus fuscater gigantodes Cabanis.
Type locality: Huacapistana, Peru.
Type material: Holotype male [slide 56730] and three paratypes [without numbers] deposited in the USNM, from the Carriker collection.
