Description
Menacanthus safedgal Ansari, 1951
Menacanthus safedgal Ansari, 1951: 141, figs 6a–d.
Current status: Menacanthus eurysternus (Burmeister, 1838); Price 1975: 619, figs 1–9.
Type host: Molpastes leucogenys leucogenys (Gray) = Pycnonotus leucogenys (Gray).
Type locality: Kullu [as Kulu], India.
Type material: Holotype male [slide NHML010658143] deposited in the NHML. This slide, labelled as “ TYPE ”, contains two males, one circled and assumed to be the holotype, but Ansari (1951: 143) only listed the holotype. Therefore, the other male has no type status.
