Distribution. China: Guangdong, Guizhou, Guangxi, Yunnan; Vietnam; Laos; Malaysia. More information on distribution can be found in Qiu et al. (2015).

Remarks. On 6th February 2019, an incomplete remain of Platysodes madoni was found at Panxi of the Mount Fanjingshan, northeastern Guizhou, China (Kai-Chen Ou-Yang, personal communication, August 2020). This record extends the distributional range of this species northward (Fig. 28).
