TYPE DEPOSITORY: Canadian National Collection of Insects, Arachnids and Nematodes, Eastern Cereal and Oilseed Research Centre, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
TYPE LOCALITY AND HABITAT: 16 km southeast of Pan American Highway, Cotopaxi National Park, Ecuador, on Puya clava -hercules (Plantae: Bromeliaceae).
