Towards a Relational Spirituality:Psycho-Social Perspectives

Authors/Creators

Description

Today, scholars are daring to wade into spiritual waters in order to discover and encounter the healing powers of hitherto unknown spirits and forces. A new perspective is emerging on how we can be spiritual. It seems a lot more diverse than previously envisaged. Now spiritualities are expressed not only in religion- based contexts but also in a variety of other human experiential contexts. This article has explored and emphasized the relational- emotional dimension of spirituality that we think would make spirituality more easily accessible to most. Theories of modem psychology, like EQ and attachment theory, offer insights and perspectives that enrich the meaning and practice of relational spirituality.
