The concept of a person who commits violent and selfish crimes
Description
The article provides a criminological analysis of the concept of «violent and selfish criminal person». It has been established that the general selfish orientation of the offender's personality consists in the relatively stable domination in his consciousness of selfish motives, combined with an orientation towards the obligatory use of violence. It is also noted that the main characteristics of people who commit violent crimes for selfish reasons have been revealed. These particularities are also a necessary integral part of the mechanism for the application of restrictive measures by the police, whose direct recipients are such persons.
