  • 1. Moldova State University, Faculty of Journalism and Sciences of Communications, RTV Department, Republic of Moldova

Description

The process of documenting in journalistic activity not always can be characterized as easy or very easy. It is almost every
time confronted with diffi cult researches, misunderstanding, disagreements or even confl icts. These facts make more diffi cult
the documentation process and, ultimately, the realization of a journalistic material which purpose is to inform the public about
topics of great interest. These situations of unequivocal, unsafe interpretation sometimes generate a critical attitude towards
media activity among the public, with obvious consequences: lack of credibility of the press, suspicions of partisanship, ironic
attitude towards the press, etc. The article below tries to reveal all the characteristics of confl ict of interests in journalistic
activity and possibilities to avoid it and to keep the profession’s image on the corresponding level of ethics.
