This article is the result of research on the practices, learning, challenges, resistances and struggles of the members of the Association of Water-services Administrative Boards of the municipality of Támesis (ACUATAMESIS), Department of Antioquia, Colombia) in relation to the socio-environmental conflicts generated by the implementation of privatization and extractivist management models of water and territory. The objective is to critically analyze the processes of community water management in local contexts. The article discusses water management policy in Latin America, the regulatory framework for water management in Colombia, and the mobilization processes around water issues, particularly in the communities organized around their local water services in the municipality of Támesis, Antioquia.
