Description
The dataset gathers information on the 444 arable fields and associated weed communities studied in the research article Weed diversity is driven by complex interplay between multi-scale dispersal and local filtering by Bourgeois, B., Gaba, S., Plumejeaud, C. and Bretagnolle, V., published in Proceedings of the Royal Society B:Biological Sciences.
Data include:
- FieldID : unique identifier of the sampled field
- Crop Type : type of annual crop cultivated in the sampled field
- Sampling Year : year of weed community survey
- Gamma field : richness of weeds in the entire field
- Gamma field core : richness of weeds in field core
- Alpha field core subplot : mean weed richness of field core subplots
- Beta field core subplot : ratio of the mean weed richness between subplots of the same field core plot over the richness of the field core plot
- Beta field core plot : ratio of the mean weed richness between field core plots over the weed richness of the field core
- Beta field core-field margin : ratio between Gamma field core and Gamma field
- Gamma field margin : richness of weeds in field margin
- Alpha field margin subplot : mean weed richness of field margin subplots
- Beta field margin subplot : ratio of the mean weed richness between subplots of the same field margin plot over the richness of the field margin plot
- Beta field margin plot : ratio of the mean weed richness between field margin plots over the weed richness of the field margin
- Beta field margin-field core : ratio between Gamma field margin and Gamma field
