Diagnosis (male). Large size (TL = 4.0– 4.3 mm). Brownish-red background color, head with occipital dark spot, elytra with five longitudinal dark bands (Fig. 14); dorsal surface with weak punctation in addition to longitudinal series of elytra; prosternum with a distinct transverse line of 6–7 stiff setae, anterior to procoxae and prosternal process; prosternal process with apex broad, posterior margin truncate (Fig. 5). Male median lobe (Figs 12 d–f) in lateral view slender, width nearly uniform along its length, narrowed at apex, strongly curved dorsally at about mid length, ventrally with deep longitudinal groove subtended by lateral flanges, left lateral flange slightly enlarged, expanded ventrally, converging with right side at or near apex to create rounded lobe, base small, comprised of lateral notches and a medial hook-like process; left lateral lobe in lateral view (Fig. 12b) elongate, slender, slightly curved, with hair-like setae on distal third, longer at apex forming a dense tuft.
