Description

This release belongs to the AMS-MWR-2020 publication: "Sub-seasonal statistical forecasts of eastern United States hot temperature events"

The relevant python files are in the folder publications/Sub-seasonal_statistical_forecasts_of_eastern_United States_extreme_temperature_events/.

Data: For ERA-5, the timeseries that were extracted by CPPA are in hdf5 (.h5) fileformat. Other data is not incorporated to save storage space, but is available upon request. Code: To download ERA-5 data used in the paper via the ECMWF API. To reproduce all ERA-5 forecasts and the concomitant figures presented in the publication. To extract timeseries based on the correlation map approach (RGCPD code).

The original CPPA code to extract the timeseries is publicly available at https://github.com/semvijverberg/CPPA. However, as stated in the manuscript, we recommend using the correlation map approach (RGCPD code), which is in this repo (see e.g. Teleconnections_E-US.py).
