Statistical monitoring of strategically important enterprises in Ukraine

The subject of the study is the features of statistical monitoring of strategically important
enterprises for the country's economy and security.
The purpose of this article is to review the issues of monitoring of strategic importance for the
economy and security of the country and to determine the directions of its improvement to justify the
means of state regulation.
Methodology of conducting work – provisions of institutional theory, management theory,
Keynesian concept. On the basis of a systematic approach, using the methods of analysis and synthesis,
the necessity of monitoring the enterprises that are strategically important for the economy and
security of the state in the economy of Ukraine is substantiated.
Results of work – issues of definition of concept and list of strategically important enterprises in
Ukraine and countries of the world are considered as well as criteria of their identification; organization
of statistical monitoring of the functioning of the specified range of enterprises, suggestions for its
restoration within the framework of monitoring the efficiency of management of state property objects
are given, taking into account the updated information received.

Conclusions – An important condition for ensuring the dynamic of socio–economic development of
the country is a clear definition of the concept of «strategically important enterprises» and updating
their list; conducting statistical monitoring of various aspects of their financial and economic activities
and introducing a set of measures of state regulation, first of all, with regard to increasing the
competitiveness of the national economy by enhancing innovation and investment activity, which is
possible in the framework of monitoring the efficiency of management of state–owned objects, which
is carried out by the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.
