Apion frumentarium (Linnaeus, 1758)
Distribution in Iran. Alborz (Borumand 1998 as Apion (Erythrapion) miniatum Germar, 1833; Sanaei & Seiedy 2015, 2017), Ardabil (Modarres Awal 1986 as Apion miniatum), East Azarbaijan (Modarres Awal 1997, 2012, both as Apion miniatum; Legalov et al. 2010), Golestan (Hoffmann 1968 as Apion miniatum); Legalov et al. 2010; Ghahari & Colonnelli 2012), Isfahan (Legalov et al. 2010), Northern Khorasan (Hoseini & Dousti 2015), Razavi Khorasan (Legalov et al. 2010; Modarres Awal & Hossein Pour 2010; Zare Khormizi et al. 2016), Tehran (Borumand 1998; Modarres Awal 2012, both as Apion (Erythrapion) miniatum; Legalov et al. 2010), Yazd (Zare Khormizi et al. 2016).
General distribution. Afghanistan, Algeria, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bosnia Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Georgia, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Iran, Italy, Jordan, Latvia, Lichtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, European Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Syria, Turkey, Ukraine.
Plant associations in Iran. Medicago sativa L. (Fabaceae) (Modarres Awal 1997, 2012), Cynodon dactylon (L.) Pers. (Poaceae), Pinus mugo Turra (Pinaceae) (Zare Khormizi et al. 2016), Polygonaceae (Sanaei & Seiedy 2017). This species lives on Polygonaceae (Hoffmann 1958; Radde 1974; Scott et al. 2000); its occurrence on other plants is due to the migrating habits of several species of Apionini (Angelov 1965).
