Stenetra caucasica Tselikh sp. nov.

Description. Female. Body length 4.1–4.8 mm; fore wing length 2.1–2.5 mm. Head and mesosoma black with weak blue metallic lustre; metasoma dark brown with green and blue metallic lustre; antenna with scape yellowish-brown, pedicel dark brown with weak blue metallic lustre; flagellum dark brown; all coxae black with weak blue metallic lustre; femora dark brown; all tibiae apically yellowish-brown and basally yellow; all tarsi yellow except last segment brown; fore wing with brownish tint, venation yellowish-brown; ovipositor sheath black. Head in dorsal view 2.2–2.3× as broad as long and 1.2× as broad as mesoscutum; in frontal view 1.3× broader than high. POL 1.5× OOL. Eye height 1.7× eye length and 2.25–2.5× as long as malar space. Distance between antennal toruli and lower margin of clypeus 0.7× distance between antennal toruli and median ocellus. Clypeus radially striate, its lower margin emarginate. Antenna with scape 0.75× as long as eye height and 1.28× as long as eye length, not quite reaching anterior edge of median ocellus; pedicel 2.5× as long as broad and 2.5–2.7× as long as F1; combined length of pedicel and flagellum 0.9× breadth of head; flagellum almost filiform; second anellus transverse and 1.3× as long as first anellus; F1 transverse, 0.6× as long as broad and 0.4× as long as F2, with 1 row of dense sensilla; F2–F6 longer than broad; clava 2.0–2.5× as long as broad. Mesosoma 1.3× as long as broad. Scutellum finely reticulate, 0.8× as long as broad. Propodeum medially 0.5× as long as scutellum; median carina present only anteriorly, plicae absent; nucha short and reticulate, 0.2× length of propodeum. Fore wing 2.5–2.6× as long as maximum width; basal cell with 1–3 hairs; speculum open; M 0.9× as long as P and 1.4–1.5× as long as S; stigma with long uncus. Metasoma lanceolate, 1.5× as long as mesosoma and head; Mt8 2.8–3.0× as long as broad and 0.95–1.0× as long as Mt7. Ovipositor sheath projecting slightly beyond apex of metasoma.

Material examined. Holotype: ♀, ARMENIA, “ Yerevan, near zoo 3.IX.1962 V. A. Rikhter ”, “ HOLOTYPE Stenetra caucasica ♀ Tselikh ” (ZISP).

Paratype: 1 ♀, GEORGIA, “Gori, Gruzia SSSR VI.1957 Hoffer”, “ PARATYPE Stenetra caucasica ♀ Tselikh ” (NMP).

Distribution. Caucasus (Armenia, Georgia).

Etymology. The species is named after the type locality, Caucasus.

Comments. This species is very similar to S. khalaimi; the differences between these species are given in the key.
