Volviendo a discutir sobre Centcelles. Arqueología y Territorio 5: 101-112
Description
The iconographic program of the cupola of the well-known VII hall of the Centcelles monument reveals a high recurrence of celebrations in a privileged space, in a cultural atmosphere in which Christian iconography, from now at the level of monumental art, creates a new language based on the reinterpretations of the expressive forms in use. The biblical decoration offers a repertory of images which are often painted in the catacombs or sculpted on the front of sarcophagus, providing substance to the hypothesis about the funerary character of the monument and, specifically of the hall VII.

El programa iconográfico de la cúpula de la conocida aula VII del monumento de Centcelles revela una comitencia muy alta
que se auto-celebra en un espacio privilegiado, en un clima cultural en el que la iconografía cristiana, que acaba de ascender al nivel de arte monumental, crea un lenguaje nuevo, basado en la reinterpretación de las formas expresivas en uso. El friso bíblico ofrece un repertorio de imágenes que se encuentran con frecuencia pintadas en las catacumbas o esculpidas en los frentes de los sarcófagos, fundamentando la hipótesis del carácter funerario del monumento y tal vez, de la misma sala VII.
