Recursos didáticos para o entendimento dos efeitos da urbanização sobre os rios urbanos: o caso da microbacia do Córrego João Gomes Cardoso - Contagem/MG.

Environmental education manifests itself as an important tool of awareness regarding the anti-ecological speech existing in urban planning. Through the extension project Geoparticipation Mapping and Monitoring of Watershed carried out in João Gomes Cardoso creek basin in Contagem/MG, it was debated with students and educators from three public schools different perceptions about urban rivers. Workshops occurred with mapping, a model of the basin, fieldwork and an activity using the Google Earth program. Thus, the objective was to discuss the use of different teachings resources in order to discuss issues involving urban rivers. We verified that the participants pointed different thoughts, but at the end of the project execution most of them presented speeches against the river channeling, frequent public policy in their city. Several environmental problems were identified in the study area caused by this practice. The teaching resources used were useful because they allowed approximate and expand the debate.
