Hetman Ivan Mazepa and the election of rector of the Kyiv Mohyla Collegium in 1693

The purpose of the study is to introduce into the circulation of personal origin new sources relating to Hetman I. Mazepa. The letter to the Kyiv Metropolitan Varlaam Yasinsky from 1693 plays a primary role, in which it is possible to find new data on the peculiarities of the election of the new Rector of the Kyiv-Mohyla Collegium. The processing of information from primary sources was based on common scientific methods of analysis and induction. The scientific novelty of this work is the publication and introduction into the scientific circulation of three previously unknown archival sources authored by Hetman I. Mazepa.
