Business models for open source: sustaining the DMPonline service

DMPonline is a world leading data management planning service offered by DCC. The tool is based on an open source codebase managed in partnership with the California Digital Library. Whilst the DCC is committed to open source principles and offering our service for free to the greatest extent possible, we also recognise that the future of the tool is dependent on sustainable investment. We introduced a freemium subscription model for the DMPonline service in 2018 and will reflect on how we developed and implemented this business model in the lightning talk.
