Description
These files contain the R code used for the validation analysis and visualization of the CORDEX Central Asia (CAS-CORDEX) climate data produced by the regional climate models (RCMs) ALARO-0 (Termonia et al., 2018a) and REMO2015 (Jacob, 2001). The outcomes are presented in Evaluation of regional climate models ALARO-0 and REMO2015 at 0.22° resolution over the CORDEX Central Asia domain by Top et al. (2020).
The R scripts include the definition of the domains in order to be able to interpolate the model and observational data to the 0.50° grid of the gridded observational CRU data set (Harris et al., 2014). Further, they contain the routines to calculate the mean bias and visualize the bias spatially on seasonal and annual level averaged over the 1980-2017 period for the variables mean, minimum and maximum temperature and precipitation. Additionally, they compute and visualize the Taylor diagrams of the above variables based on seasonal and annual mean values.
