Description
AMWA is dedicated to advancing women in medicine and confronting healthcare disparities through advocacy and education. We host networking socials to facilitate mentorship, events about women's health/patient advocacy, and workshops to fight against inequalities faced by physicians at all points in their career.
We are dedicated to empowering women in medicine and fostering an environment that is supportive of the needs of women and their families. We prioritize advocating for equity in healthcare, identifying/confronting health disparities, and defending patients' rights in addition to fighting for their access to care. Our group strongly believes that mentorship is crucial for our shared success and we host networking events to introduce medical students to faculty, as well as foster relationships between pre-medical students and medical student mentors. Please reach out to our current leaders any time if you have questions or would like AMWA to explore a particular issue or topic.
PLEASE READ: All allies and supporters are encouraged to join us. You do not have to identify as a woman to partake in events, lead our group, and help us make impacts in the field of medicine! We welcome all who support equity in medicine and are delighted by diversity at our events.
