Summary. Aim: To present the characteristics of a new preparation of essential polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) “Liposan-forte”. Materials and methods: The composition of fatty acids in the preparation and in serum lipids was determined by gas-chromatographic method. The presence of inflammation in the liver and serum was evaluated by the level of elastase activity and the content of malondialdehyde (MDA). Assessment of nutritional value was carried out on rats. Results: The formulation of the oil solution of the Liposan-forte drug was developed by combining fish oil and a solution of tocopherol and β-carotene in high oleic sunflower oil in a ratio of 1: 2. The drug has a ratio of ω-6/ω-3 PUFA less than 0,6, does not cause inflammation and does not activate lipid peroxidation. Increases the content of ω-3 PUFAs, improves the ratio of ω-6/ω-3 PUFA. Conclusion: One tablespoon of the drug "Liposan-forte" provides the daily human need for ω-3 PUFA.
