Kinetics and Mechanism of the Thermal Decomposition of 2-Methylpropanoic Anhydride

Description
The homogeneous gas-phase thermal decomposition of 2-methylpropanoic anhydride has been
studied over the temperature range of 200-400 °C. The reaction obeys first-order kinetics, is
unaffected by chain inhibitors and give 2-methylpropanoic acid and dimethyl ketene as sol
products.
