Description
Light LED traps developed in the laboratory of phytosanitary monitoring, instrumentation and technical support of VNIIBZR tested in climatic conditions of the North-West of the Russian Federation (Pushkinsky district, St. Petersburg). Traps are designed to catch insects at night. To attract insects, UV LEDs with wavelengths in the range 365-405 nm have been used. Under the conditions of tilled and fruit and berry crops, in the immediate vicinity of wild shrub and grass vegetation, it has been found that the Lepidoptera have dominated in the traps. Dozens of moth species have been caught. However, economically significant species in the region have been found rarely, including Cydia pomonella, Agrotis segetum and Plutella xylostella.
