Description

Genus PHTHIRIA Meigen

Phthiria Meigen, 1803: 268. Type species: Bombylius pulicarius Mikan, 1796, by monotypy.

Hosts: Gelechiidae and Tortricidae (Yeates & Greathead 1997).

Phthiria sharafi El-Hawagry & Al Dhafer, 2014: 388. Type locality: Saudi Arabia (Asir: Abha: Raydah). Distribution: AF: Saudi Arabia [as “South western part”].

Saudi Arabian localities: Asir: Raydah Protected Area (Abha Gov.).

Dates of collection: April to September.
