The content of the article presents the results of an empirical research in studying the state of senior preschoolers’ creative storytelling development. Psycholinguistic analysis of the authentic statements of children through discourse analysis, content analysis, etc. methods was carried out on the indicators (independence in formation of the meaning of story, the content of the creative story, the ability to think up the beginning of the story, the sequence of events (culmination) and solution, adherence to the unity of the concept and content of the creative story, grammatical structuring, means of the inter phase communication) and made it possible to identify both characteristic features of children’s creative narratives and typical signs of the actual development of their narrative speech (narration).
