Description

Datasets used in the analysis of the manuscript entitled "Association of past dengue fever epidemics with the risk of Zika microcephaly at population level in Brazil" by Carvalho et al. (submitted).

dengueBR2001-2014.csv contains the number of reported dengue cases by month in a selection of Brazilian microregions.

microBR2014-2016.csv contains the cumulated number of reported  microcephaly cases between 2014 and 2016 in a selection of Brazilian microregions.

Notes

The datasets are treated and aggregated data freely available from the DATASUS website (http://datasus.saude.gov.br/). The microcephaly data come from SINASC (Microdata available at http://datasus.saude.gov.br/informacoes-de-saude/servicos2/transferencia-de-arquivos ), the dengue dataset come from SINAN ( aggregated data available at http://datasus.saude.gov.br/informacoes-de-saude/tabnet/epidemiologicas-e-morbidade ).
