THE TRAINING OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION FACULTY STUDENTS FOR EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES ON SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

The purpose of the work is to represent the course “Basics of Sustainable Development of Society” designed and adapted for students of the Physical Education Faculty, the study of which will help to prepare the future teacher of physical culture and specialist of physical education and sports for educational activity on sustainable development.
Methodology. The work was performed on the basis of a competent approach to the professional training of a physical education teacher and a specialist in physical education and sports; there were used the general methods of analysis, systematization and synthesis of information.
Scientific novelty. For the first time, the normative-legal documents regulating the professional activity of a physical education teacher and a specialist in physical education and sports were analyzed from the standpoint of sustainable development. The course "Basics of Sustainable Development of Society", which takes into account the positions of the Sustainable Development Strategy of Ukraine, corresponds to the Sustainable Development Goals has been adapted to the professional activity of physical education teacher and specialist of physical education and sports. Competences on the principles of sustainable development that future physical education teachers and physical education and sports specialists will have after studying the proposed course are outlined.
Conclusions. Regulatory documents regulating the professional activity of physical education teacher and specialist of physical education and sport contain competencies, possession of which allows to understand and implement the provisions of the Sustainable Development Strategy of Ukraine. The course "Basics of Sustainable Development of Society" has been developed and adapted for students of the Faculty of Physical Education, the study of which will contribute to the formation of the necessary competences for the successful professional activity of the future physical education teacher and specialist of physical education and sports in the field of education for sustainable development.
The prospect of further research is the structuring and concretization of the place of competences for sustainable development in the general structure of training of physical education teacher and specialist of physical education and sport.
