Technology of Instruction
Description
Teaching technology, or didactic technology, is the methodology of teaching perceived in a broad sense, as a general methodology of pedagogy, promoted by general education theory, applied at teaching level, implemented and developed in the open process of education, which is organized by stages and subjects. Teaching technology engages and explores fundamental pedagogical concepts at the general teaching theory level (general didactics). From a current perspective, seen through the curriculum paradigm, teaching technology promotes a certain model of teaching activity, pedagogically conceived at the following levels: a) global (ensured by focusing on general and specific objectives and the basic relevant content units); b) open (ensured by exploring various organizing forms of teaching (formal and informal; frontal, microgroups, individual; types and versions of lessons etc.), which are sustained through teaching–learning–assessment methods that may be adapted with changing circumstances.
