It’s certain that a person builds his own archive for the always valid and concrete reason, to protect the works he has done and intends to develop, but it is also true that there are more powerful reasons, sometimes prevalent, whereby people maintain documents concerning themselfes with the intention to hand down that to posterity. Here we examine some cases of personal archives (writers, poets, publishers, painters, politicians, etc.) without wishing to develop a theoretical essay, but rather a reflection on different aspects of them that seemed peculiar and unusual.
