Factors that Affect Correction and Resocialization of Convicts

One of the social problems that remains for some time relevant, can be called correction and resocialization of convicts, which are released from serving their sentence and still serving sentences. Decision of this problem is related to the issues of fighting against crime. Correction and resocialization are the main tasks of the whole criminal-executive system. The question of finding a rational mechanism for correction and resocialization of convicts was studied long ago and this article is devoted to this issue. This article analyses some factors that have an influence on correction and resocialization of prisoners, reveals the meaning of these concepts.
The basis for realization of purposeful preventive work and all process of resocialization of convicts have been researched into, which includes collecting data about positive and negative qualities of the condemned person, his conduct before the conviction and in the period of serving a sentence, conditions of his life, relations between the family members. Particular attention is paid to such factors as genetics, prisoners’ state of mind, education. This article highlightes the problems of conditions for serving criminal punishment. A number of problems encountered by states are taken into account. Particular attention is paid to the issue of punishment not related to imprisonment. Conclusions and suggestions were made.
