Nagorny Karabakh: Causes of the Conflict and Ways to Solve It

The present work is based on the author’s report, revised in 1988-1989, that was originally conveyed to the Director’s office, Institute of Ethnography, USSR Academy of Sciences (Moscow) in August of 1988. It is an attempt to reveal the underlying causes of the conflict around Nagorno Karabakh and, as far as possible, to analyse some of the proposed measures to eliminate them.
