EFFECT OF MALE AGE ON FEMALE FITNESS TRAITS IN D. ANANASSAE

Description
In the present study male age influence on female fecundity, fertility, egg-larval hatchability, larva-adult viability and longevity has been assessed in outbred strains, monomorphic (inversion free) and polymorphic (with inversion) strains of Drosophila ananassae. Our findings shows females of outbred strains, monomorphic and polymorphic strains, mated with old aged male exhibits highest fecundity, fertility, egg-larval hatchability, larva-adult viability and lowest longevity, Thus in D. ananassae male age affects on female fitness traits.
